Bridge Carter, founder of Bridge to Justice, has been named Highly Commended in the Solopreneur category of the Elevate You Awards 2026.

The awards recognise and celebrate women in business on the Isle of Man. They were presented on 17 September at Woodbourne House in Douglas, in front of more than 140 guests. Entries this year were double those of 2025, and Bridge was among the first to be named Highly Commended.

What the judges said

The judging panel was Lisa Karran, John McChesney, Joanne Posey and Alicia Woodward. Each finalist this year received a written comment from the judges. This was theirs:

The judges were impressed by Bridget’s tenacity, commitment and clear sense of purpose. Her business has been shaped by a genuine desire to provide valuable resources for an underserved population, and she has clearly given careful thought to how best to meet that need.

By developing her own frameworks, creating tailored resources and providing education for key stakeholders, Bridget has built an offering that feels both distinctive and considered.

The judges were particularly impressed by the thought and commitment behind her work and look forward to seeing how she continues to develop and expand its impact.

Why it matters to the work

The frameworks the judges mention are BTJ Investigative Thinking: five principles for reading evidence, behaviour and chronology together, so that a pattern which looked like a run of unrelated incidents can be seen as one course of conduct.

That method was built for the people this work serves: families and professionals who have been told, often more than once, that there was nothing to see. Recognition from outside the field is not the point of the work. It is a sign that the approach makes sense to people who have no stake in it, and that matters to anyone deciding whether to trust it with their story.

About the Elevate You Awards

The Elevate You Awards were founded in 2025 by Louise Wheeler of L C Consultancy. Their aim is to recognise and support women in business, building confidence and inspiration for women in business now and in future. The 2026 awards had four categories: Solopreneur, Entrepreneur, Leader and, by nomination only, Inspirational Woman of the Year. The headline sponsor was FIM Capital.

Elevate You is also a community. Beyond the awards, it supports women in business through training and one-to-one mentoring.

Our congratulations to every winner, every Highly Commended and every finalist, and our thanks to Louise, the judges and everyone who made the afternoon happen. The ceremony was reported by IOM Today.
